About Us
Our Mission
The Veterans of Foreign Wars ("VFW") is a veterans service organization, founded on September 29, 1899, and chartered by Congress in 1936. The VFW Post 5626 was founded in 1947. The Post promotes civic and patriotic services and will continue to do so. We have fun in the process of everything, but our members want to do so much more. We aim to grow in membership because with more members grows more activities, funds, and programs in support of our veterans, their families, and community. Duty, honor, country.
Our Commitment
At VFW Post 5626, we are committed to providing support and resources to veterans in our community. We aim to establish a strong network of camaraderie and advocacy for veterans' rights and benefits. Our commitment extends to honoring the memory of those who have served and sacrificed for our country. Post members have regularly visited hospitalized veterans and veterans in nursing homes. The Post has provided flag details for private funerals, public events, ceremonies, and parades. This includes sponsoring youth activities and contests to promote civic awareness and awarding scholarship prizes to winners of national freedom and liberty essay competitions. Additionally, they donate to the Salvation Army to assist in their emergency relief efforts. We are committed to these efforts and more. Give us a call or send us an email.
